Do men also bleed during sex

Men bleeding during sex is usually unheard of and hence can be a little awkward for those who experience it. If you are one of them, do not panic, you are not alone.

Main causes

The most common reason for the penis to bleed is a frenulum tear. Frenulum is the area of sensitive skin on the underside of the penis, right near the center of the head. Frenulum tear can happen owing to sex without lubrication

The other cause for the tear can be a tight foreskin. This happens when a man isn’t able to roll back the foreskin on penis smoothly. Most men are able to pull the foreskin all the way back. But for some it can be a minor problem because of various causes, including lack of practice before sex or during masturbation

So when they have sex with a penis that does not have retract easily, the penetration can cause the foreskin to tear a little. This leads to bleeding because the penis is basically filled with blood.

Prevention

While having sex, use lots of water-based lubricant or use condoms. This will prevent local injury.

For the heterosexual couples, the man should always penetrate when the vagina is well lubricated, naturally or otherwise. During anal sex, use a lot of lubrication.

Avoid using excessive force and speed during masturbation and sex. Be less vigorous.

Keep the area clean and dry and maintain a high level of hygiene.

Treatment

Rest. Give it some time to heal on its own. This should help heal the tear. Avoid sex or masturbation for six weeks or longer if it has not healed fully.

So guys, do not panic, hold off and try again once the tear is healed.
