Boomerang videos are fun
My boyfriend and I rarely get to spend time together, and he says what he misses most about me are the crazy faces I pull — of laughter, disbelief or my sad faces. So whenever I can, I send him a boomerang video of me pulling a face. It’s our special thing in our love story. Other than that, there is always Skype, so that we can see each other.

Splitwise made us wise
This is going to sound strange, but the best app for me has been Splitwise. When I got married, my wife and I would get into constant arguments about expenditures and about who spent money on what. It’s not like we’ve stopped arguing after we got the app, but at least our fights are not about something as stupid as money!

Voice texts for that personal touch
Well, my girlfriend and I work in the same building, so we usually only text each other if we want to take a break together and call each other only at night. In our love story, there are of course times when texts are necessary, like when one or both of us can’t really take a call. In such cases, I just send her a voice message. It’s something she can hear whenever she’s free and is a lot more personal than just a text.

Video calls to the rescue
My boyfriend lives abroad, so WhatsApp has been a Godsend for me in our love story. I can text him whenever I like, we try to squeeze in a call through the app whenever possible and on extremely rare occasions, when both our timings completely match, we even manage to get steamy on a video call.

Hate instant messaging
For me, if my partner is away, it's calls or nothing. I was in a relationship once in which my boyfriend would only message me when he was bored. My texts would go ignored for hours but he would get nasty if I was even a few minutes late in replying to his texts. That relationship kind of put me off all instant messaging.

FaceTime all the time
I am always traveling for my job and so is my wife. We both have iPhones and FaceTime each other a lot. It’s easy, convenient and does not require a logging in. We have two kids and they too prefer to FaceTime us rather than call or text. That's our love story with phone! Nothing like seeing your loved ones.

Skype – our second love
We both met through a matrimonial website online and after our families matched our horoscopes, we first decided to have a Skype call as I was in the US and he was in India. We got married and whenever I come to India to meet my parents and he cannot, Skype is the best way for us to stay in touch.
