Neera’s life looked perfect from the outside, a loving husband, a beautiful home, and a well-planned daily routine. But it was all just a show. Something inside her had died. Maybe the part of her that once shivered at a gentle touch, or the one that looked for love in someone’s eyes. Somewhere along the way, Neera's life had paused.
Ayush, her husband, was a responsible man. He went to work on time, took care of household needs, but never noticed Neera’s physical and emotional needs. Their conversations were only about things like “What’s for dinner?” or “Did you pay the electricity bill?” Neera’s desires and feelings were buried somewhere deep inside.
One night, unable to sleep, Neera installed a random chatting app out of boredom. She chose the name Meera07. Within minutes, a friend request popped up. She accepted it but was too sleepy to check the messages and dozed off.
The next night, she opened her phone to find a message:
"Hi, I’m Adi99. Just here to talk. Nothing weird."
Neera replied. Slowly, their chats turned into day and night conversations, about feelings, fears, and desires.
Adi was different. He would ask, “Did you cry today?” or write, “Reading your message gave me peace.”
Their chats slowly became flirty too, but it wasn’t just about sex. They were exploring emotions too. For Neera, it felt new… it made her feel alive again.
After three months, Adi suggested they meet.
“Shall we meet once?” he wrote.
Neera was scared at first, but then thought, “I’ve lived so many lies… why not live one truth?”
She agreed. The day finally arrived when Neera and Adi were going to meet.
But as she entered the cafe, she froze. Sitting in the corner was someone she knew — it was Ayush.
Neera’s hands trembled, her eyes widened.
Ayush looked at her and asked softly, “You’re… Meera07?”
Neera nodded and asked, “And you’re… Adi99?”
They both laughed, a strange but honest laugh. Then Ayush said, “We had drifted so far from our real relationship that we started finding ourselves in fake names.” With tears in her eyes, Neera replied, “Maybe in these fake names, we were our most honest selves.”
That day, while leaving the café, Ayush held Neera’s hand for the first time in years and in that touch, Neera felt the warmth she had missed for so long.
