That’s because women feel what scientists call ‘responsive desire’ – they get turned on as a reaction to something, like their partner’s hand on their breasts. But men are more often spontaneously horny. That’s why they have to deal with things like embarrassing erections when they least expect them.

Of course that doesn’t mean women are never suddenly in the mood for sex. It’s just that for them, spontaneous desire is a lot more common in a brand new relationship or after a long separation from a partner.
