Sexual trolling/Internet trolling/online trolling
A troll is a person who starts fights or harasses people on the Internet to start a fight or instigate someone online by posting provocative messages in an online community (such as Facebook groups, forums, chat rooms, or blogs) with the intent of getting a reaction.
Trolling becomes sexual trolling when the messages posted by the troll are sexually explicit in nature. For eg: A female getting rape threats on Twitter. Trolling is also a form of harassment while sexual trolling is actually a form of online sexual harassment.
An online or social media troll is someone who purposely says something controversial in order to get a reaction out of other users. For eg: A man who sends to many nudes to women online and his intention is to get attention. To know more about online sexual harassment, click here.
Forced sex chats
Online chat may refer to any kind of communication over the Internet on various platforms like Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram etc. It offers a real-time transmission of text messages from sender to receiver. When these online chats are on topics that are sexual in nature - they are called sex chats. Sometimes, a person can blackmail or force the other person to have forced sex chats with them on pretext of revealing some personal information/secret about that person.
Sharing of intimate photos/videos
While sexting or having intimate chats can be an irresistible impulse, it’s best to keep your hormones on a leash, at least with strangers. Online sex happens when you have erotic conversations, look at each other on a webcam, or masturbate.
However, be careful when sending pictures taking your clothes off! Be aware you can never know whether someone is recording the images from your webcam or not. And you can never be sure what will happen to the recording – you could easily find a photo or video of you has been uploaded to a porn site. So it’s best to make sure your face is never visible. Then you will not be recognisable if the picture or video does end up on the internet.
If you trust a person and you in a long distance relationship with them and want to spice up your life by sending nudes, we would suggest still avoid showing your face in them. Do not share anything that could be used against you later.
A majority of sexually explicit online images and videos of young people end up on various pornographic websites and can be viewed by everyone.
Also, don’t just try to please the other person by doing something you are not comfortable. And never with a stranger or someone you do not trust. Set your limits. Never do anything under the pressure of someone or as a ‘proof’ of your showing your love to them. If you are not comfortable sharing nudes and your partner is forcing you to do so – you need to re-think about that relationship!
